Job Descriptions


President -  Jack McHardy

The Duties of the President include:

  • Preside over all Executive & General Meetings.
  • Chair Grievance Committee.
  • Maintain working relationship with the Club's Management.
  • Maintain working relationship with the City of Regina Recreation Department.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Vice-President/Club Captain - Dan Snell

The Duties of the Vice President/Club Captain include:

  • Responsible for keeping the RCGA handicap program up-to-date, including correcting mistakes by members, adding new members, and reviewing handicaps of members.
  • Responsible for verifying handicaps for members when they are going to tournaments requiring a signed SGA Handicap card.
  • Responsible for helping interpret rulings that may arise.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Fill in for the President in his/her absence.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Secretary - Carol Ell

The Duties of the Secretary include:

  • Record and present the minutes of the Spring and Fall General Meetings.
  • Record and distribute minutes from the executive meetings.
  • Provide assistance to other members of the executive as required.
  • Schedule Executive Meetings and announce Agenda.
  • Ensure all outstanding action items from previous meetings are included on next meeting’s Agenda.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Treasurer - Bryan Spence

The Duties of the Treasurer include:

  • Maintain financial records of the Adult, Junior and Capital accounts, using accepted accounting standards and practices.
  • Responsible for ordering and issuing handicap cards for all members.
  • Maintain current listing of membership, including e-mail addresses, addresses and phone numbers (provided by Membership Registration forms).
  • Print, distribute and present Financial Statements at Membership Meetings (April & September).
  • Arrange with Financial Institution for 2 of 3 Executive signatures required on all cheques.
  • Provide financial information at Executive Meetings.
  • Ensure SGA membership fees are paid in full and on time.
  • Provide assistance to members during club nights and tournaments.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Tournament Director - Catherine Geldart

The Duties of the Tournament Director include:

  • Organize Tournament Schedule for the year, including format of play.  Print and distribute.
  • Book Tournaments with the Golf Course Manager
  • Organize Tournaments:  Add announcements to bulletin board, do up draw, print up rules and attach to score cards, print up score cards, print up results sheet, arrange for marking course (if required), arrange for Proximity Pins, do scoring on results sheets, determine winners, allocate gift certificates with Golf Course Manager, and/or prizes with Social/Prizes director.. 
  • Organize Club Nights:  Determine format of play for all club nights, print and distribute; arrange for scorekeepers, determine winners and allocate gift certificates with Golf Course Manager.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Mens Rep - Dale Pekrul

The Duties of the Mens Representative include:

  • Arrange special events for Men only (i.e. fun tournaments, weekly skins game).
  • Organize qualifier for Men's Pro-Am.
  • Determine, arrange and organize Map Grant funding and activities.
  • Attend Executive meetings.
  • Solicit suggestions from membership.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.



Ladies Rep -  Carol Spence

The Duties of the Ladies Representative include:

Meetings:
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Introduce self, welcome all golfers, look forward to new season, announce date of ladies meeting.
  • Information for the season, club rules, etc.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.


Qualifiers:
  • Run qualifying tournaments for Pro-Am and Interclub, etc.


Inter-Club Tournament

-  Ensure entry fee and registration for teams is provided to the tournament committee
-  Every 4th year when the Goulet club holds the event, coffee and muffins for the golfers           must be arranged with kitchen staff.  Assist committee with event.

Break Pins & Hole in One Pins:
  • Order break pins from the SGA office (306-975-0850 in Saskatoon).
  • Include name, date, score, hole number, yardage and club used (if possible).

Regina City Ladies Golf Championship Committee:
  • Represent the Goulet Club at meetings (along with another person from the Club).


Social/Prize Director - Kate Flamont

The Duties of the Social Director include:

  • Responsible for organizing social functions for members
  • Update plaques and trophies in the clubhouse from previous season.
  • Order prizes for Club Championship winners (have clothing available at Club Championship for sizing)
  • Send cards to members who are sick or in hospital; also when family members have passed away.   It is everyone's responsibility to notify the social director when they know of such an occurence
  • Use up unused credits in the pro shop at year end; these are for prizes the following year
  • Attend Executive meetings
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.

Organize Club Windup/Flag tournament:
  • Book the banquet facility
  • Buy prizes for Windup
  • Distribute prizes from Club Championship


Communications Director - Darlene McHardy

The Duties of the Communications Director include: 

  • Update Web Site with Club Information.
  • Create and distribute newsletters and announcements, via mail and email.
  • Update the Goulet Caddy (club members information booklet).
  • Organize and arrange for printing of Membership Phone Book.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.


Junior Director - VACANT

The Duties of the Junior Director include:

  • Promote junior golf at the Goulet and all levels of competition
  • Assist in junior events
  • Run clinics & lessons
  • Help junior golfers familiarize the rules of golf to a Professional level
  • Provide a competitive venue for young adult men and women
  • Provide a resource centre to enable junior golfers to obtain golf scholarships for University or College
  • Dedicate to helping junior golfers by providing instructional, comprehensive, and competitive programs which develop character, sportsmanship and provides additional lifelong benefits.
  • Attend executive meetings.
  • Assist with scorekeeping during club nights and tournaments.
  • Assist members during club nights and tournaments.
